We are recruiting on behalf of our Client UKAT for two full-time Recovery Support Worker jobs in Runcorn.
UKAT is the UK’s leading Addiction Rehab Centre provider. Their purpose is to provide excellent care and treatment to enable all those suffering from addictive disorders to achieve a goal of life-long recovery.
They treat addiction as an illness, not a life choice and ensure that all our practitioners are highly trained and motivated to enable individuals to embark on a life-changing process.
The support worker will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day provision of a high-quality support programme to substance misusing clients’, families and the community. This involves supporting individuals and or groups with the objective of assisting them to change, improve, understand addiction and manage their life situations in order to maintain an abstinent lifestyle and develop their ability to support themselves in communities without recourse to substance misuse or negative behavioural traits.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Undertake all duties and responsibilities in accordance with: company policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines, standards; good professional practice and the company’s QA strategy, CQC and other regulatory requirements, relevant legislations, all legal and contractual obligations.
- Oversee and or conduct effective intake, assessment and discharge interventions.
- Assist the therapeutic team to carry out accurate, complete and timely risk management planning and reviews in conjunction with external third parties where appropriate.
- Ensure clients observe the programme’s rules and support the manager in investigating and taking action where these may have been breached including substance testing.
- Provide advice, information and support to clients including referral to aftercare services that focus on maintaining an abstinent lifestyle.
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate client records and databases and provide statistics for management and to assist with service evaluation in a timely fashion.
- Assist in the transfer of individuals between agencies and services.
- Support clients with the prompting of their medication, conduct accurate and timely medication audits and maintain accurate medication records.
- Oversee the maintenance of a clean, orderly and safe building.
- Complete general administration duties
- Work with clients to produce appropriate and achievable recovery plans to help them address their identified needs.
- Ensure residents attend external appointments in line with their care plan by supporting them to access transport or accompanying them if necessary.
- Assist in the day-to-day operation of services by working with clients, enabling them to cope with practical aspects of daily living (life skills, benefits, housing).
- Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required by the Line Manager and/or the Senior Management Team or Directors.
Essential Experience
- Possession of (or preparedness to work to) a NVQ Level 2/3 qualification in Health and Social Care or similar.
- Good organisational skills and time management skills in relation to own workload.
- Good verbal and written communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team in a collaborative and supportive manner.
- Competent within the demands of the role in Word, Outlook and Excel.

This position is for 48 hours weekly, consisting of four 12 hour shifts. These shifts regulate between 07:00 – 19:30, 10:00 – 22:30 and 19:00 – 07:30 and will include some weekends on a rolling rota so all regulate between all shift patterns. No shift patterns or designated days are promised and the rota is completed in favour of the company’s needs.
