Support Coordinator

Step into a key role as a Support Coordinator, guiding care plans and empowering individuals to access the support they need.

Support work’s always been about people, but as a coordinator, it’s also about making sure the whole setup runs smoothly. You’re still checking in with service users and still working alongside support staff, but there’s more planning, more responsibility, and more people looking to you when things need sorting.

We speak to a lot of people who’ve worked in support roles and want something with a bit more responsibility. That’s where this job fits. If you’ve been in the thick of care work and feel ready to step into a role with more structure without losing that hands-on connection, this could be the right step.

What the Job Involves

You’ll still be involved in direct support, whether that’s helping with care plans, checking in with service users, or picking up when someone’s having a tough day. But you’ll also be managing rotas, making sure staff are in the right place, and handling some of the behind-the-scenes stuff that keeps the service running.

You might be updating records, attending reviews, or being the first point of contact when something goes wrong. Sometimes you’ll be covering shifts. Other times, you’ll be keeping everything ticking over in the background. Either way, you’re the one people come to when they need answers.

Is This Role Right for You?

If you’ve spent time on the frontline of support work, you already know what good care looks like. This role is about stepping up, not away from people, but into a position where you’ve got more say in how things are run.

You’ll probably suit this role if:

  • You’re organised and don’t panic under pressure
  • You can balance people’s needs with what’s practical
  • You’ve worked in care or support services and understand how they tick
  • You’re confident leading a team or giving others guidance
  • You’re not afraid to make decisions and take responsibility for them

It’s not a desk job — you’re still hands-on, still involved, just with more on your plate.
