Explore rewarding careers as a Children’s Support Worker and make a real difference in young lives every day.
Looking after children, especially those going through tough times, takes more than patience. You’ve got to be steady, kind, and able to handle the ups and downs that come with the job.
Some of the kids you’ll work with might be in care. Others could be living with complex needs, or just struggling to manage life day to day. If you’re the type of person who stays calm under pressure and doesn’t give up easily, this might be the kind of work that fits.
We speak with services across the country who need people they can trust — people who will show up and do the job properly. If that’s you, we’d like to help you find something that works.
You’ll be working closely with young people — sometimes one-to-one, sometimes as part of a team. That might mean helping them get ready for school, keeping things steady in the evenings, or stepping in when emotions run high.
Some kids just need structure. Others need someone to talk to. And sometimes they just need you to be there, quietly keeping things ticking over.
It won’t always be smooth. You’ll have good days and some hard ones. But if you’re able to hold your ground and stick with it, this can be the kind of job that actually matters — to you and to them.
This kind of role takes more than just patience. You’ve got to be grounded, consistent, and able to keep your cool when things get unpredictable
