Start a fulfilling career as a Care Assistant, supporting others with compassion and making a real impact every day.
Some people just get it. They know how to make someone feel safe, calm, and looked after — even on tough days. If that sounds like you, working as a care assistant could be the right path.
It’s not a job you do for the title. It’s work that matters to the people you support, and that’s what makes it worth doing. At Cucumber Recruitment, we help care assistants find roles where they can do exactly that — day in, day out.
This is proper hands-on care. You’ll be helping people with the basics — getting out of bed, getting washed and dressed, making meals, and just being around to make things a bit easier.
You might be based in a care home, a supported living service, or doing one-to-one work in someone’s house. Most of the people you’ll support are either older, living with long-term conditions, or need help day-to-day because of disability or illness.
It can be full-on at times, and you’ve got to be patient. But if you’re someone who notices the little things — and doesn’t mind jumping in when things get busy — you’ll find the work worth doing.
You don’t need a fancy background or a long list of qualifications to be good at this. It’s more about who you are and how you treat people.
You’ll likely do well if:
