We are looking for a caring, dynamic and highly motivated Recovery Service Manager to join our established team in South Manchester.

We are recruiting on behalf of Creative Support. Are you a caring, energetic and innovative leader with a passion for encouraging maximum independence for those in mental health recovery? Do you possess excellent communication skills, creative and calm in your approach? South Manchester has a varied and long established team who is looking to welcome a new Recovery Service Manager to oversee and develop our South Manchester recovery services.

The South Manchester Mental Health services work with individuals across a range of age groups and needs and in a variety of settings. The Recovery Service Manager role will come into a vibrant service model that has been proudly delivered by Creative Support for over three decades. The services are recovery-focused and aim to further develop our trauma-informed care approach to respond to the housing, well-being and health needs of the adults we support.

The post holder will get a direct and detailed handover from the previous Service Manager who has done the role for nearly a decade. There is a small community team attached to the 7 accommodation services all services aim to support people to move into further independence and work on a skills and assets-based approach.

The successful post holder will manage an experienced and dedicated senior team and oversee the service model across South Manchester. The successful post holder will have support from and work in close liaison with other Service managers across the Manchester city area. Office based in Withington with regular site visits to Chorlton, Northenden, and Wythenshawe.

We are seeking an individual who has a genuine passion for recovery based approaches. You will have a commitment to social housing and mental health support. The successful candidate will preferably have experience in assessment and referrals and have experience in risk management and service delivery.

You will receive full induction support and supervision. There are excellent career development opportunities within Creative Support. We offer a comprehensive internal mental health training package and a thorough induction and onsite training will also be offered.

Essential Experience

  • Previous Management experience essential
  • You will have experience working with individuals with mental health needs
  • You will be a highly effective communicator able to create a balance between boundary and patient, with an inclusive and sensitive approach
  • You will understand the potential impact of behaviour on staff and have knowledge of trauma-informed approaches.
  • You will have experience and understanding of risk assessment, review, management and mitigation
  • You will have excellent organisational and planning skills
  • You will have excellent record-keeping skills and understand the impact of poor record keeping
  • You will understand the importance of developing and maintaining a healthy team dynamic
  • You will understand the importance of care, compassion, communication, courage, competence and commitment
